Summer may be drawing to a close, but our activity level continues to build in preparation for the first Committee Week of the 2018 Session just two weeks away. We’re working hard on our legislative priorities for the upcoming session, all of which will focus on making our state the best possible environment for senior living communities, their staff and their residents. We’ll make sure to update you very soon.
We’re also very excited about a recent development with the Department of Elder Affairs, which has signaled its willingness to consider the concerns we laid out in our rule challenge by withdrawing the proposed rule and announcing it will start the rule-making process over.
One last thought – please keep the senior living communities in Texas in your thoughts and prayers as they work to keep their residents safe in the wake of Hurricane Harvey. We’ll have a special update tomorrow with information on how you can help them directly. Additionally, if your community has been affected by the recent flooding in Florida and needs help placing displaced residents, please contact us and we’ll be happy to provide direct assistance.
